Jennifer Lee Hayward's Story

DOD: May 9, 2018

Police have arrested Gregorio Juarez Morente, 48, of Nashville, after he admitted to police that he was driving the 2002 Chevrolet Venture minivan that struck Jennifer Lee Hayward, 47, on Myatt Drive near Spring Branch Road on May 9, 2018.  It was a hit and run.

After the collision, police recovered the minivan in a Gallatin Pike parking lot where it was recovered the same night as the crash. The minivan, which sustained damage consistent with striking Hayward, had been cleaned out and the license plate removed.

Morente reported that Hayward stepped out in front of the vehicle and, after she was struck, he became frightened and drove off.  Morente was been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, failure to render aid, driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance.
