DOD: September 8, 2018
The pedestrian killed early September 8, 2018 as he attempted to cross Nolensville Pike at the I-440 West exit ramp is identified as Mark Vandeleuv, 56, whose last known address was on 32nd Avenue South. Vandeleuv was struck at 7:45 a.m. by a 2016 Dodge Ram truck driven by Dennis Draper, 42. Draper, who had exited from I-440 West, turned right onto Nolensville Pike, striking Vandeleuv. Draper reported that he did not see Vandeleuv prior to the collision. Vandeleuv died at the scene. Draper, of Nashville, was not injured. There was no evidence of impairment on the part of Draper. The preliminary investigation indicates that failure to yield to a pedestrian is the primary contributing factor to the collision.
