Safety Between Point A and Point B

Chad McAmis

Chad McAmis' Story

DOD: December 3, 2018

The pedestrian struck and killed December 3, 2018 on the Briley Parkway I-24 overpass was Chad McAmis, 44, of Nashville.  It is believed that McAmis had been soliciting at the I-24 off ramp to Briley Parkway just before the 5:30 p.m. collision.    The investigation shows that McAmis was walking on Briley Parkway in a traffic lane when he was struck by an eastbound Ford Mustang.  The impact threw McAmis into the second eastbound traffic lane where he was hit by a Chevrolet Impala and a Toyota Camry.  The three drivers were not injured and were not impaired.  McAmis died at the scene.  The preliminary contributing factor in this fatal collision appears to be McAmis’ presence in the traffic lane.
